Welcome to the website for The Two Minute Silence oral history project, aimed at capturing the thoughts of people as they mark the annual Remembrance Day silence, 90 years old in November 2009.

We would like to hear your thoughts, your reflections – not just about the First and Second World Wars, but about any form of conflict around the world. These might be the wars in the Falklands, Iraq or Afghanistan, the troubles in Northern Ireland, the partition of India, Pakistan and subsequently Bangladesh, civil wars in Sudan, Somalia, Rwanda, the Lebanon and the former Yugoslavia.

We’d also like to hear your thoughts about peace, and what peace means to you. You can contact us at the Centre for Oral History Research, Room WG25, University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, Huddersfield HD1 3DH. Tel: 01484-478410 or 478412, email: s.f.kelly@hud.ac.uk
